USA: Declaración del Centro de Acción Internacional sobre la salud y la juramentación del presidente Hugo Chávez

  El Centro de Acción Internacional basado en los EEUU se une al pueblo de Venezuela y de todo el mundo para desearle al presidente Hugo Chávez una pronta recuperación de la cirugía que se le practicó el pasado 11 de diciembre en Cuba, y condena la cruel campaña de desinformación con respecto a su salud puesta en marcha por la oposición derechista en Venezuela.

Esta campaña tiene el propósito de sembrar la incertidumbre y la división en el pueblo de Venezuela y sólo corresponde al objetivo de desestabilización de la Revolución Bolivariana.

Puede ser que haya sido fabricada en Venezuela, pero los asesores, a través de muchas ONG, son pagados por la CIA y el Departamento de Estado estadounidense. Se trata de una campaña política desesperada de la oligarquía al servicio del imperialismo de EE.UU. Están desesperados porque han perdido las últimas elecciones presidenciales al actual Presidente Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías; desesperados, ya que también perdieron provincias en las elecciones para gobernador, estando ya en tan solo 3 provincias, fuera de las 23  y desesperados porque perdieron escaños en su representación en la Asamblea Nacional. Y por último, desesperados por no poder revertir una revolución que ha estado trabajando para el mejoramiento de los más pobres en lugar de para los ricos.

El pueblo de Venezuela ha hablado claramente durante más de 14 años, manifestando que quiere mantener y defender la Revolución Bolivariana que ha mejorado la vida de la gran mayoría y no van a volver al régimen que les mantuvo en la más absoluta pobreza en un país con las mayores reservas de petróleo.

Ahora, con la más cruel maniobra, la oposición ha acusado al gobierno de Chávez, ahora a cargo del vicepresidente Nicolás Maduro mientras el presidente Chávez se recupera, de haber un vacío de poder y por lo tanto, se debe elegir a un nuevo presidente. El 10 de enero, el presidente Chávez iba a juramentar como presidente, pero estando todavía en proceso de recuperación, no puede hacerlo. Sin embargo, de acuerdo con la Constitución venezolana, en caso de circunstancias graves que imposibilite hacerlo ese día en particular frente a la Asamblea Nacional, él podría juramentar más tarde frente a la Corte Suprema de Justicia.

Tenemos confianza en la Revolución Bolivariana, en su liderazgo que realmente es el pueblo de Venezuela, la generosidad de Cuba y la experiencia del equipo médico cubano, todas y todos trabajando juntos para hacer que el presidente Chávez regrese a su puesto. Pero aún más que eso, para preservar y profundizar la revolución que ha impulsado las esperanzas de los pueblos en toda la América Latina y del mundo por una sociedad justa fuera del imperialismo estadounidense.

Statement of the International Action Center on the health and the inauguration of President Hugo Chavez

The International Action Center, based in the USA, unites with the people of Venezuela and throughout the world in wishing President Hugo Chávez a speedy recovery from the surgery he underwent last December 11 in Cuba and condemning the cruel campaign of disinformation regarding his health launched by the right wing opposition in Venezuela.

It is meant to sow uncertainty and division upon the people of Venezuela and only corresponds to the aim of destabilization of the Bolivarian Revolution.

It might have been manufactured in Venezuela, but the advisors, through so many NGO's, are paid for by the CIA and the United States State Department. It is a political campaign of the desperate oligarchy at the service of US imperialism. They are desperate because they have lost the latest presidential elections to incumbent President Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías; desperate because they also lost provinces in the gubernatorial elections, having now only 3 provinces, out of 23, and desperate because they lost seats in their representation at the National Assembly. And finally, desperate because they cannot revert a revolution that has been working for the betterment of the poorest instead of the wealthy.

The people of Venezuela have spoken clearly for more than 14 years that they want to keep and defend the Bolivarian Revolution which has lifted the lives of the vast majority and will not go back to the regime that kept them in the most abject poverty in a country with the largest oil reserves.

Now, with the cruelest maneuver, the opposition has been accusing the Chavez administration, now in charge of Vice President Nicolás Maduro while President Chávez recovers, of not having a visible leadership and therefore, should elect a new president. On January 10, President Chávez was to take oath as president, but being still in recovery, he cannot do so. However, according to the Venezuelan Constitution, in case of grave circumstances that make it impossible to do so that particular day in front of the National Assembly, he can take the oath at a later day at the Supreme Court of Justice.

We are confident in the Bolivarian Revolution, its leaders who really are the people of Venezuela, the generosity of Cuba and the expertise of the medical team, all working together to bring President Chávez back to office, but even more than that, to preserve and deepen the Revolution that has propelled the hopes of millions for a just society away from US imperialism all over Latina America and the world.
